The Cyanotype Process

botanical art

Twelve years ago, during my advanced photography class in college, I first discovered cyanotype printing. As we explored various alternative photography processes, I was instantly captivated by the beauty of the cyanotype. I vividly remember those afternoons spent in the photography lab, completely immersed in my final project, exposing and developing numerous prints. I felt a profound connection to this timeless art form at that moment.

Time stood still in that room; stress and worries faded as I focused solely on creating cyanotype prints. Even today, that same feeling washes over me in my home studio. It’s my sanctuary, where I can step back from my roles as a mother and wife to work on new collections and dream up future ones. Each moment spent creating is a treasure, a sacred pause where I breathe and release the burdens of daily life.

Isn't it amazing to transform elements of nature and science into stunning art? If you're curious and eager to learn about the cyanotype process, I’d love to share it with you. I've created a tutorial for anyone wanting to dive into cyanotype printing and make beautiful creations.
